Retailer Best Buy has just sent out emails to those who pre-ordered Overwatch, informing them that their copies will now be ready for pick-up on May 23rd, a day before the intended release date of May 24th.

You see, the game will be available at select retailers to gamers who want to take it home and install it onto their consoles ahead of time, but the title won't actually be playable until the following day. You can see that information listed on the game's information page via GameStop.com. With Overwatch being a multiplayer competitive shooter with online-only functionality, it seems this move is one that ensures players can dive in without excuses or playing the "waiting game" while watching a download bar. A move by the publisher that we certainly don't have a problem with.

Overwatch is of course the new game from Blizzard that puts players in a time of global crisis, as an international task force of heroes bands together to restore peace to a war-torn world. Plan on picking it up a day before its playable? Let us know below!
