Brad Pitt's 'War Machine' Headed For Netflix
This may not be Netflix's first rodeo in film distribution, but it's certainly it's most high profile purchase. It has been announced that War Machine will be distributed through Netflix upon the movie's release.
The movie, which will star Brad Pitt (Fury), is a political satire based on the novel The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan by Michael Hastings. It centers around a four-star general who is seeks to win the "impossible" war the USA have started with Afghanistan.
In a statement the chief content officer at Netflix, Ted Sarandos stated “’War Machine’ is a rip-roaring, behind-the-facade tale of modern war decision-makers, from the corridors of power to the distant regions of America’s ambitions...Brad and David are a perfect team to make this timely, compelling and entertaining film.”
War Machine does not have a definitive release date yet, however, it is due early 2017.
