Poor John Connor just can't catch a break in his war for mankind against the AI Skynet. It seems that big cheeses over at Paramount Pictures and Skydance weren't thrilled by Terminator Genisys' performance at the box office; critics weren't all that thrilled either.

Now the original plan to have Genisys kick start a new trilogy is in serious trouble as Skydance reveal they're 'making adjustments' to the franchises future direction. Paramount has replaced the upcoming release of Terminator's next film with Baywatch for May 2017. Genisys made $89 million domestically at box office, and over $440 million internationally, with production costs at $150 million.

In 2019 the rights to Terminator will revert back to its creator James Cameron.
