Project CARS "Simply Too Much" For Wii U Hardware

It looks like the Wii U version of Project CARS has been completely scrapped due to technical limitations on the console.

According to developer Slightly Mad Studios, "the official line is that we're awaiting an announcement from Nintendo on new hardware ... As of now Project CARS is simply too much for the Wii U."

It's been a rocky road for the Wii U version of the game which Slightly Mad Studios reported would only run at 23 frames a second. At the time, the head of the studio Ian Bell spoke out about their console problems; "Honestly, unless we really cut the looks back I think we're looking to Nintendo's next console."

"We still haven't given up on Wii U 100 per cent but if we can't make it work we will move to the next Nintendo machine."
