Trust in this, the first trailer for Iron Man director Jon Favreau’s live-action adaptation of Disney’s The Jungle Book.

Written by Justin Marks, the film blends computer-generated animals and Neel Sethi in person as Mowgli, the human orphan raised by animals in the jungle, to unspool Rudyard Kipling's story. The stunning state-of-the-art VFXers, led by MPC, have revisited the techniques of Ang Lee’s Life Of Pi and James Cameron’s Avatar to carve a jungle world full of eye-popping colour and detail.

Christopher Walken is the voice of King Louie, ruler of the jungle’s monkeys and apes, while Giancarlo Esposito is Akela, leader of the wolf pack that initially cares for Mowgli. Ben Kingsley is panther Bagheera, Lupita Nyong’o is wolf mother Rackcha), Bill Murray is bear pal Baloo, Idris Elba is lethal tiger Shere Khan, and Scarlett Johansson is charming, deadly snake Kaa.

The Jungle Book opens in the UK on April 15, 2016.
