It seems Bungie has been very busy developing a new engine for follow-up Destiny 2 and that it's due later in the year, with the possibility of a PC version.

Everything is subject to rumour for now and this 'November 2017' release window is just the latest in a string of supposed hot information on Bungie's development. The name 'Destiny 2: Forge of Hope' is also floating around.

A Reddit user claims to have an inside mole "within the Administrative ranks" at Bungie. It's best to keep highly sceptical of everything this 'Inside_Leaks' user claims to have been told but it does raise some interesting points.

Highlights include:

• Q4 2017 release window (Nov. 4 - 18)

• Launching on five platforms: PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox Scorpio, PC

• Three launch editions (preorder bonus, in-game cosmetics, statuette)

• New game engine for easier content creation and deployment

• In-game events scheduled every 1-2 months

• Story overview:

"The sequel will heavily focus on chronological events set after the Fall 2015 Expansion The Taken King. The cabal forces attack the city leaving the civilians and mentors of the tower defenseless. It is the guardians job to fight back the cabal and reclaim the city."

"While doing so the guardian will discover the long lost stories of Queen Mara Sov and The Exo Strangers motives. The story will culminate with the tower and city fighting back the Cabal empire resulting the guardian defeating the leader of the Cabal in the new Raid."

• Quarterly content updates substantial in nature

• First expansion already in works due Fall 2018

• Previous characters "being left behind" due to engine change - was "hard decision" for Bungie

• Greater character customisation including facial hair, class-themed face paints / tattoos

Currently all we know officially is that Bungie is working on Destiny 2.
