A lengthier story trailer has been released for Disney's spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's not so quick a montage of action now with characters given a bit more time.

We're treated to more shots of the Empire doing what it does best; conquer, march and spend their lavish military budget on Death Star iterations. We also get to see more of the cast around the rogue hero Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones.

Other members of the cast include Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Diego Luna, Warwick Davis, Forest Whitaker, Jimmy Smits, Genevieve O'Reilly and Valene Kane.

James Earl Jones returns to voice the Dark Lord, who is said to be a lot more merciless in Rogue One than as he's portrayed in the original films.

Let's cut to it shall we. Yes, Darth Vader is in this new longer trailer but only the back of his highly polished head. He is looking at what seems to be some technical readout of the Death Star, which could be the plans for the battle station.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in cinema December 16th in the US and UK.
