Kickstarter Launched; Check Out Diablo-Esque Top Down RPG Umbra
Earlier this month we told you about Umbra, an upcoming top down RPG developed in CryEngine and inspired by Diablo which intends on changing the face of the genre by force.
SolarFall Games is currently running its Kickstarter campaign for Umbra and is ready to be funded. As of writing, there is 23 days to go and $151,000 in pledged funds which is exciting to see.
As we know, Umbra has been described as being extremely versatile when it comes to character customisation, an important function in any RPG genre. The game offers a feature called ‘Apocalyptic Form’ which, based on your play style, will begin to model your character, allowing them to develop special abilities and even change their appearance to suit their performance.
Other exciting features include destructible environments and the Kythera AI system which “adapts to any change in the physics of the world, allowing us to create exciting scenes including large portion of levels collapsing or moving and fighting on the back of giant creature, creating never seen before gameplay situations!”
Umbra appears to be a very ambitious game which we’re excited to see take form; Kickstarter rewards include digital and Steam copies of the game, alpha access, exclusive armour sets, an art book and more.
