Alex Coming to All Street Fighter V Players as a "Free Trial"
If you're looking forward to picking up Alex in Street Fighter V next week, you'll be excited to know that all players will be getting the grappler as part of a "free trial" when the DLC launches next week.
Capcom must be having a little bit of trouble as the developer has announced that the March update will not include support for their upcoming microtransaction currency, Zenny. Players will still be able to purchase from the DLC store but only with the in-game currency, Fight Money, until further notice.
The Zenny store features will be released "as soon as it's ready" according to a Capcom representative. We have taken a long hard look at this part of the store, and after much review, have decided it is not ready to launch just yet. As Zenny is purchased with real money, we wanted to be extra careful and make sure it’s fully tested and optimized before launching it."
As an apology, all players will receive access to returning character Alex, the game's first DLC character, as a 'free trial' until the Zenny features are completed. At that point, you'll lose access to Alex and will have to pay for him with either Fight Money or Zenny.
