Combining the patriotism of a war movie with the adorability of movies about dogs comes this Warner Bros. offering: Max.

Max follows the titular dog, originally a marine dog in Afghanistan, whose owner Kyle, played by Robbie Amell (The Flash), is killed in the line of duty. Max is sent back to America, now suffering from PTSD and unable to work with any other person. So, it's up to Kyle's brother Justin, Josh Wiggins (Hellion), to take care of him. Rounding out the cast are Lauren Graham (Parenthood) and Thomas Haden Church (Heaven is for real) as Justin's parents and Luke Kleintank (Bones) as a shady marine who worked with Kyle. The film was written and directed by Boaz Yakin (Now You See Me)

Max will be heading to cinemas June 26 in the USA and October 9 in the UK. Catch the first trailer below, and are you sad at the lack of dog puns in this article?
