American Gods: Ricky Whittle Cast in Lead Role
Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods moves forward with the news that Ricky Whittle has been cast in the lead role of Shadow.
British actor Whittle made his name in the UK on soap Hollyoaks and football drama The Dream Team, before doing a stint in sequins on Strictly Come Dancing, he then relocated across the Atlantic for Mistresses and more recently, The 100.
He'll be playing Shadow Moon, the American Gods lead, who begins Gaiman's novel as a recently released ex-con with a mysterious past and a penchant for coin tricks.
Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are showrunning the Starz joint, with Neil Gaiman joining them on scripting duties.
