Gears Of War 4 Beta 'Open To All' Today, Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer Gets Gory And Silly
Microsoft Studios and The Coalition today throw open the beta gates to qualifying Gold Members as stage two begins for Gears of War 4, with the beta closing May 1st.
An official versus multiplayer trailer really highlights the over-the-top execution moves and mayhem new weaponry brings to the mix for online matches. Who doesn't love a gun that fires a portable mining drill that zips over an enemy before drilling down into the head?
A favourite of any multiplayer arena shooter is the buzzkill that fires ricocheting saws to buzz their way through enemies cowering behind cover. The new executions are equally brutal and silly and should go well with the new maps; Dam, Foundation and Harbor.
Dodgeball is a new game mode to choose from and there's always some good Co-op Versus for chums to take on the AI together. They include favourites like team deathmatch, king of the hill, guardian, warzone and execution for online.
To qualify for the Gears of War 4 Beta you must own an Xbox One, be an Xbox Live Gold Member, be over 17 years of age (you wouldn't lie would you?) and obviously be connected with Xbox Live.
The beta only includes Team Deathmatch and the new Dodgeball mode with Harbor, Dam and Foundation as available maps. The trailer below is keen to point out Gears of War 4 features 60 frames per second for multiplayer, dedicated servers and is LAN ready.
The Early Access period for the beta begin April 18th but now everyone can start jumping in for when it closes May 1st. Gears of War 4 doesn't release on Xbox One until October.
