PlayStation Meeting 2016 Recap
The PlayStation 2016 Meeting occurred today at 3:00 PM EST time at the PlayStation Theater in New York City. Here's the highlights of what happened from the event:
- Andrew House came out on stage and confirmed the PlayStation 4 Slim. It will be the standard PS4 console at retailers moving forward.
- The PlayStation 4 Slim will release on September 15th for $299 (£259).
- The PS4K or PS4 "Neo" will officially be called the PlayStation 4 Pro.
PS4 Pro Features:
Double the GPU power (No specific figure was offered)
Comes featuring HDR out the box (Current PS4’s will receive this as a free update in the near future.)
Will play resolutions up to 4K.
Improved clockrate on the CPU.
Includes a 1TB of storage.
- Mark Cerny, the console designer, showed off various upcoming and past titles running on the new console.
- New gameplay videos appeared for:
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- 4K Video Apps are on their way for both YouTube & Netflix.
Andrew House ended the meeting by revealing the release date, design (below), and price of the PS4 Pro. It will release on November 10th, 2016 for $399 (£349)!
