A Brutal Legend 2 Fig Campaign Could Happen
After a ten year break away from Psychonauts, Double Fine Studios made it official that they're ready to go back to the series if enough fans would want it, by showing their support on a Fig campaign. Well, if you want a Brutal Legend sequel, it could come about in the same way...
Under the Frequently Asked Questions section of the Psychonauts 2 campaign, the studio lists the question, "Will you ever make Brutal Legend 2?"
In reply, the studio answers themselves by stating, "We’ve always said that we wanted to make sequels to both Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. We can’t make any promises but if Psychonauts is a success for us, then perhaps Brutal Legend 2 will be more possible?”
The 2009 original starred Jack Black as Eddie Riggs, a legendary roadie summoned to a world of Heavy Metal where he unleashes the power of Rock to reign down fire from the sky - all in an attempt save humanity and become a Brutal Legend. Fans have wanted a sequel since the first's release, and we also hope to one day play it as well.
Seeing as how Psychonauts 2 has currently raised $1,892,486 of its $3,300,000 goal with 36 days still left to raise funds, we think it's been pretty successful. Here's hoping Eddie Riggs can rock one more time...
