World War Z 2 Confirmed For Summer 2017

World War Z – probably the most unlikely-not-too-bad film to come out of a horde of screaming, drooling negative early press – is getting a sequel once again starring Brad Pitt.

The first movie, which all but jettisoned the Max Brook’s novel it was based on and suffered the ignominy of having its final third completely restructured – grossed $540 million at the box office in 2013.

With that return in mind, plans for a sequel were afoot soon after, with Brad Pitt set to reprise his role as Gerry Lane. Director Marc Forster isn't returning, instead being replaced by Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible).

And we now learn that World War Z 2 has been confirmed for release on June 9th 2017 in the US. At the moment, that's the same date that Fox has earmarked for Fantastic Four 2. We wait and see if either of those budge.
