Keiji Inafune's ReCore is being written by former Bungie writer Joseph Staten, according to a recent article from the New York Times on heroines in video games.

The story behind ReCore follows the last remaining human on the barren planet of Far Eden, Joule, who needs the help of robots to bring the human race back to life. According to Staten, "Joule is emblematic of this conviction, and we hope she's a character who stands strong and stands out in a market filled with male heroes."

Staten left his position as Director of Cinematics and Lead Writer at Bungie in 2013 for an unknown project at Microsoft. ReCore is aiming to be released this Spring.
