Bates Motel: Two More Seasons Ordered
Checking back in, A&E have ordered two more season of the Psycho prequel, Bates Motel.
Pushing the show up to five seasons – which some are speculating will be the end at our stay with the Bates’ – the news comes as no surprise as the show continues to be one of A&E’s better performing ‘darker dramas’.
Despite its declining ratings, the show has fared better than the networks similarly murk tales with Those Who Kill and The Returned, both quickly put out of their misery and cancelled.
Speculating on what we can expect to see in the next two seasons are perhaps more obvious references to the Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and, due to the specific order of seasons, an across season endgame mapped out by the writers.
Bates Motel’s creator and producer Carlton Cuse is expected to return for seasons four and five, as are its stars Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga.
