First Trailer Checks in For Gore Verbinski's A Cure For Wellness

How do you present a trailer for a movie that’s ostensibly marketed as a big old mystery? Well, mysteriously of course!

Nope, there’s no point looking for definitive answers when it comes to Gore Verbinski’s new movie A Cure For Wellness, but, what you’ll get instead is a flavour of just what the movie has in store…you know, like a trailer should?

It’s definitely a change of pace from his recent blockbuster fare – it’s very much in the mould of his remake of The Ring – the trailer is filled with sinister goings-on.

Dane DeHaan stars as an ambitious young Wall Street type checked into a remote health retreat – or “wellness centre” – where he finds himself diagnosed with a mystery illness and prescribed a cure that seems to involve quite a lot of eels. Other than that, there’s no sign of Jason Isaacs’ facility director here, but plenty of the otherworldly Mia Goth as  the longtime patient DeHaan’s newbie soon encounters.

With echoes of The Shining and the heady gothic overtones of Dracula, A Cure for Wellness will be fighting off the disease of boredom in cinemas February 17, 2017.
