There's going to be weirder goings on for Special Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder to look into according to Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden, reports Deadline.

"We have had conversations with (creator) Chris Carter and (stars) David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson,” Walden said. “I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show.”

They hope to have "something to announce" by next May, as currently everyone is everywhere else for the time being, and they need to nail down the details yet. "Conversations are ongoing. I can tell you that all of them would like to do more of these, and certainly the network and studio want to do more," added Fox TV's Gary Newman.

The X-Files proved itself strong demand when the short-lived return aired, and it was the second most watched program for Fox, coming in behind Empire's last season.
