Blade Runner Sequel Now Has a Title
Hot on the heels of the title announcement for Logan, another long-awaited film now has its official title. From now on you can stop calling it Blade Runner 2: ‘Botting it up! and address it by the correct title of Blade Runner 2049.
So despite not knowing that much about the puzzled over sequel, what we can now say with utter confidence is that it’s definitely set 30 years after the first movie.
As far as a synopsis goes, what we do know is that Harrison Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, and the world he inhabits has just gotten worse, with environmental catastrophe plaguing humanity.
Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi and Dave Bautista are also among the cast, with Sicario and Arrival's Denis Villeneuve calling the shots.
And to celebrate the news of the title, how about a not-at-all forced picture of Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Denis Villeneuve stood around a kitchen – possibly not the same kitchen Harrison Ford recorded the much maligned voice over from the original cut of Blade Runner.
Blade Runner 2049 will be out on 6 October next year.
