Colossal Order's Cities: Skylines is about to go dark with its first announced expansion After Dark, which features a day and night cycle for the first time in the new series - a highly sought after feature.

An announcement trailer has escaped the clutches of Gamescom to give us a rhyming tease that briefly shows a city lighting up at night. At the very end we also hear a bicycle bell, which certainly confirms there'll be cyclists terrorising motorists and pedestrians alike.

There are new zone specialisations as well for commercial areas to make them focus on leisure activities, which are especially active during the night, while a beach specialization encourages "beach bars and restaurants, small marina and fishing tours" along shorelines.

Bikes and dedicated bike lanes will be a new transportation option for both our citizens and mayors to take advantage of.

Cities: Skylines - After Dark will release on PC but has no date set yet.
