X-men Spin-Off 'The New Mutants' In Heading Forward At Fox

Fox are already preparing their new batch of mutants, it seems, as they have announced their intentions to make a movie, or several if it goes well, based on The New Mutants.

It's not really shocking that Fox would look to a new franchise based on their x-men series, given that X-men: Apocalypse will be the finale of Bryan Singer's soft reboot of the series, and Hugh Jackman announcing that the third wolverine movie will mark his last outing as the character.

The New Mutants will be directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) who is also co-writing the script with Knate Gwaitney a relative newcomer.

The New Mutants has featured a wide variety of members in the thirty years since it started, making it difficult to say who the team will consist of. However, the The New Mutants was basically created to follow a group of teenage mutants attending Professor Xavier's school.

The New Mutants hasn't been given a release date yet, however given Boone's attachment to several other projects it could be some time away.
