Uncharted Movie Delayed until Summer 2017
Not even Nathan Drake can quip his way out of this one. The long gestating Uncharted movie won’t now hit its summer 2016 release date, Sony has confirmed.
The film, which has been beset by a series of setbacks including seeing two directors, Seth Gordon and David O Russell, depart, and, at one point Mark Wahlberg circling the role of Drake, will now be released on June 30th 2017.
Since the change of leadership at Sony last year, the project has been in a state of flux with new boss Tom Rothman ultimately faced with either cutting the films budget or taking the project in a new direction. He’s settled for the latter, bringing an end to Gordon’s involvement.
The hunt is now on to find a direct to turn the stunning video game series into a viable Indiana Jones style franchise.
