UPDATE: Final Fantasy XV Confirmed Delayed For "Further Polish", Now Due November 29th

UPDATE: Square Enix has confirmed that JRPG Final Fantasy XV is delayed.

"This release date will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams," said the publisher.

A statement from game director Hajime Tabata accompanied the announcement:

“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this; As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want FINAL FANTASY XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”

Final Fantasy XV will now be releasing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 November 29th.

A report from online outlet Gamnesia has stated that the much anticipated RPG Final Fantasy XV has been delayed until November 29.

This report has additionally been 'confirmed' by Gematsu who was contacted by a respected source, previously known for outing the game's September 30 release before the official announcement. 

The news was brought on by a member of GameStop management after receiving updated promotional materials and instructions to not display them until after August 14. We're currently awaiting confirmation from Square Enix on the validity of the report.
