SEGA Unleashes Next Chapter in Sonic Boom Franchise
The blue blur will be returning to our screens this Holiday season in the form of a new Nintendo 3DS title: Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice!
The game is currently under development by Sanzaru Games best known as the company behind 'Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time' and 'Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal', the former of which received fairly positive reviews.
The game will see Sonic taking on a familiar setting as Dr. Eggman continues to be a general nuisance. Meanwhile, a new villain enters the fray: D-Fekt. The game will infuse the elements of fire and ice throughout the gameplay, "enabling new abilities to play out in special character moves and interactions with the environment."
Fire and Ice will also introduce 'Bot Racing', a supplemental game tied to the story mode with multiplayer gameplay. Focusing on racing and speed, players will be able to "unlock character-themed Bots to challenge friends on fast courses."
You'll be able to catch Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice in stores throughout North America in the holiday season, a European release is still awaiting confirmation.
