Tomb Raider Film Reboot Shortlists Three Directors

It's down to three female directors for the planned reboot of the Tomb Raider series on the silver screen, which is being written by Evan Daugherty (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turrtles, Snow White and the Huntsman). This new Tomb Raider film is set for 2017.

The three major contenders for the director's chair are Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) and Mimi Leder (Deep Impact). Originally it was Tricia Brock who was going to direct but she decided not to pursue the Warner Bros. and Eidos Interactive collaboration. It seems like Bigelow has the best 'action chops' for the project.

The more important question is who will play Lady Croft?

Tomb Raider has already undergone a reboot in the main video game series from developer Crystal Dynamics with the latest Rise of the Tomb Raider due out this November, on PC in Q1 2016 and PlayStation 4 Q4 2016.
