Miller: "Two More Planned" Mad Max Films
Writer and director George Miller has confirmed there are plans in motion for "two more" Mad Max films, with one of those likely to be a spin-off starring Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, who some almost call the 'lead' in Fury Road.
"We shot 'Fury Road' for eight months… that's a lot. Every day in the heat and the dust, doing these stunts, it's very wearing," revealed the director. He wants to work on something much smaller and quicker "without special effects" as his next project.
Miller wasn't sure "which one of the two stories will happen next," but they're having the discussions with the studio. Mad Max: Fury Road has been hailed as a strong return for the post-apocalyptic movie franchise, with Tom Hardy as Max. Miller has shown he hasn't lost his flair for the universe he helped create with the 1979 original Mad Max featuring a very young Mel Gibson.
