Beauty And The Beast: First Glimpse of the Beast

In 2017 Disney will be activating beast mode when its live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast hits screens and, thanks to a crew member’s shirt, we have our first look at the titular beast, played by Dan Stevens.

Director Bill Condon is currently imprisoned in a castle, working away on his edit as the film enters post-production. So far imagery has been scant but, thanks to an Instagram post, we have our first look at the redesigned beast which comes from one of the stunt teams t-shirts.

As you can see, it’s very Pan like and not a million miles away from the original beast of the Oscar winning 1991 animated movie. As most of the face is exposed, it seems to suggest the transformation will be handled by makeup rather than CGI or motion capture.

Stevens joins a cast that includes Emma Watson, Luke Evans, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci and Kevin Kline.

T shirt time!!
