New Pixels Promo Invades the Web
When humanity faces a grave threat from an alien race who have adopted the tropes of 80's Video Games; who do you call upon to be our saviour?
Adam Sandler of course; in this the latest promo for Sci-fi comedy come nostalgia fest, Pixels, as reported in Empire.
Respawned from Patrick Jean's inventive short, Pixels sees easily confused aliens attempt to destroy Earth after interpreting examples of video games included in a space probe as a declaration of war.
With creations such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Centipede threatening the globe, an unusual countermeasure is suggested.
US President Will Cooper (Kevin James) tracks down old friend and ‘80s video game champ Sam Brenner (Sandler) so he can put together a team of old-school arcade masters including Josh Gad’s Ludlow Lamonsoff and Peter Dinklage’s Eddie Plant to defeat the pixilated menace.
Directed by Chris Columbus, from a script by Sandler plus Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling, Pixels also stars Michelle Monaghan, Jane Krakowski, Brian Cox and Sean Bean.
The film is set for release in the UK on August 12.
