Wan In Early Talks For Aquaman

From throwing cars out of planes to diving headlong into the sea, James Wan, director of Furious 7 has emerged as one of the front runners to take the helm of Warner Bros/DC’s Aquaman.

With Furious 7 roaring past the $800 million mark, Wan is in demand and with Jason Momoa already slated to make a cameo in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and an more substantial role in a subsequent Justice League movie, a standalone Aquaman film is due to hit our screens in 2018.

Currently the studio already has two scripts in development with Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300) both working on stories that will either fight each other for dominance or be combined into one movie.

While there is considerable heat surrounding Wan after Furious 7’s box office performance there is still no offer in place for him to head to Atlantis – its more than likely that he’ll be called upon once again to helm the next Furious movie, with Vin Diesel already talking about a new trilogy – and there’s also the small business of shooting the follow-up to The Conjuring, The Enfield Poltergeist, which should be on screens next year.
