First, we had our first look at Ryan Reynolds in his Deadpool clobber thanks to that perfect bear rug photo, and now - at least from the merc with a mouth himself – we’ve confirmation that the mouth will be able to say what he likes.

The good news is, as part of an April Fools gag between Reynolds and Extra interviewer Mario Lopez, Reynolds confirmed that the film is shooting for an R Rating – well, at least it’s in keeping with the character at least.

Deadpool features former Special Forces Mercenary Wade Wilson, who after undergoing a rogue experiment as part of the Weapon X plan which leaves him brutally scarred but also boasting Wolverine-style healing powers. Armed with his new powers and a tar-black sense of humour, he vows to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed him…while killing…a lot.

Effects man/second unit director-turned-director Tim Miller (Scott Pilgrim Vs The World) is helming this one from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland).

Production is now underway in Vancouver, with Ed Skrein (Ill Manors), T.J. Miller (Cloverfield), and Gina Carano (Haywire) among the cast. Deadpool will wisecrack his way into cinemas on February 12 next year.
