New Trailer for Barack Obama Netflix Drama Barry
In what clearly should have been called Barack: The College Years, Netflix have dropped the first trailer for Barry, an original film about the soon to be departing President of the United States.
Barry looks at a pivotal year for Obama as he arrives in New York City in the fall of 1981 to begin his junior year at Columbia University. His experiences over that critical school year lay the foundation for his views on race, government, and what it means to be an American, all leading to his eventual election as the 44th President of the United States.
The film has already garnered a strong critical showing on the festival circuit, stars Australian newcomer Devon Terrell in a breakout performance as Barry. Supporting cast includes Ashley Judd, Jenna Elfman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Mitchell, Ellar Coltrane and Avi Nash.
Directed by Vikram Gandhi and written by Adam Mansbach, Barry premieres on December, 16th.
