Outer Rim DLC Details In New Star Wars Battlefront Trailer, Greedo Among New Heroes
EA and DICE have released a fresh trailer for the Star Wars Battlefront DLC Outer Rim, the first of the official expansions to Battlefront included as part of the Season Pass.
Four new maps are added to the roster although these are actually split between two planets already part of the playable galaxy. Tatooine gets Jabba's Palace and the garage for his sail barge, while there's a brawl in a smelting factory and along some industrial piping on Sullust.
Two additional Hero characters will be playable also and finally the community can settle who shot first as Greedo arrives with his trigger-happy blaster. The other Hero is Nien Nunb who fans will recognise as a co-pilot in the Millennium Falcon alongside Lando Calrissian, and they're also in The Force Awakens.
A new game mode called Extraction is introduced where you have to try and extract some valuable resources onto a ship before the Empire manages to stop the smuggling. There are some new cards in the gear deck too with the Relby V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster, Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim Star Cards. These cards are how players load-out their soldiers.
EA and DICE have announced that four digital expansions make up the Season Pass schedule, but that there will also be free content updates along the way. Sadly there's still no mention of space battles and certainly no single-player plans which even Star Wars actor John Boyega would like to see.
