War For The Planet Of The Apes Game Rumour
Actor Andy Serkis has let slip that he and his motion studio Imaginarium are working on a War for the Planet of the Apes game for consoles.
While not an official announcement of a tie-on game, Serkis said they're hard at work on the project which isn't some first-person shooter and apparently won't feature any of the main characters from the film. It will be more of an interactive movie, as he described it.
“I don’t think it’s ever been done before,” Serkis told Gamespot. “We created it at the Imaginarium, which is my studio. Without giving too much away about it, it’s not like a first-person shooter. It feels like an interactive movie. And that’s all I can say other than that it will be coming out around the same time as the movie.”
“It’s a companion piece, it’s not based on the characters from this movie," he added. Andy Serkis plays as Caesar in the films, and his Imaginarium support the series with motion capture for the apes.
War for the Planet of the Apes releases in cinema July 14th, 2017. This unannounced 'companion game' will launch alongside the film, according to Andy Serkis.
