Next Planet of the Apes Movie Gets a Title
The next Planet of the Apes movie has a title and, according to Collider, that title will be…War of the Planet of the Apes.
As the report mentions, Caesars closing statements from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes seem to set the tone quite nicely for the sequel: “War has… already begun,” says the leader of the apes. “Ape started war. And human… human will not forgive,” he’s not wrong you know.
Quite why it’s not called War FOR the Planet of the Apes is a point of contention – perhaps it was just to shoehorn in the traditional ‘of the’ into the title or that the fate of the planet has already been decided and the movie will highlight the end game of the conflict.
Promising a spectacular clash of races – with either the apes dominating the planet or the humans reasserting control of said planet (after all, there’s the franchise to think about) – the movie is slated for release on the 14 July 2017 in the US.
