New Pan Trailer Promises Rich, Verdant Neverland
Like Metallica before him, Hugh Jackman has gone ‘off to Never, Never Neverland’ in this brand new, world-building trailer for the Joe Wright directed Pan.
There’s crystal-filled skies, a rich verdant jungle and an ocean chocked to the gills with fish – and, what’s that we spy? The croc that will eventually relieve Hook of 50% of his hands? What more could you want?
The film, directed by Atonements’ Joe Wright, will tell the story of Peter Pan's origins, with Levi Miller taking on the title role alongside Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Amanda Seyfried as Mary, Garrett Hedlund as a Young James Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily – which resulted in accusations of whitewashing against the filmmakers.
Well at least it’s in keeping with not at all sensitive portrayal of Tiger Lily’s Native American roots. After all, the animated Disney version featured a song called ‘What Made the Red Man Red?’
Pan reaches UK cinemas on 16 October this year.
