A fresh lick of paint is coming to all three BioShock games from the plunging depths of Rapture to the dizzying heights of Colombia.

It's a remastered trilogy of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite that's due later in the year mid-September. It was revealed by 2K Games via their own website. Details were a little lacklustre at first but now they've broken it down for fans.

All the DLC for the three games is also included with the only thing not being remastered for The Collection is BioShock 2's multiplayer. There's also going to be director's commentary from Ken Levine, and lead artist Shawn Robertson.

The PC version of BioShock Infinite "is not being remastered because it already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings."

Blind Squirrel Games is leading the charge for this anthology and are already familiar with the franchise since they helped Irrational Games with BioShock Infinite's development. All three instalments received high critical praise, including BioShock 2 despite not being handled by creator Levine or Irrational.
