Dreamfall Chapters Book Four Now Available
The penultimate Book Four episode for Dreamfall Chapters has been released by developer Red Thread Games. This is the first episode in the adventure series since the entire game was upgraded to the Unity 5 engine.
The studio has warned that starting Book Four might tell some players to "replay the end of Book Three by loading their last save game, either automatically or manually." The reason for this is how the game has changed handling story flags, which is what keeps track of our actions and decisions. Those affected need only play the final scene from Book Three.
They also warn that an odd crash can occur during the last decision in Book Three, and that it seems to be related to the Steam overlay. They advise disabling the overlay and then relaunching the game to try again. "We're sorry about this, and as soon as we know why this is happening, we'll put out an emergency fix!"
Dreamfall Chapters Book Four is available now with the game 60% off on Steam. One final episode (Book Five) remains in the series.
