Friday The 13th: The Game Release Delayed, Single-Player AI Pushes Into 2017

The multiplayer only Friday The 13th: The Game has been delayed into 2017, announces Gun Media studio boss Wes Keltner because they're adding single-player AI.

The bots are coming! However those AI programmed opponents will need more time for the addition of a single-player portion to the horror title. Jason Voorhees requests more time at the serial killer survivalist training camp with these NPCs. These offline bots have a lot to learn about making stupid decisions like splitting up, checking out strange noises and taking flashlights with low battery.

"We want everyone to be assured that coming to our decision to delay was no easy matter, but we believe that the positives far outweigh the negatives. We’ve been reading day in and day out on our social media feeds that single player and Tommy Jarvis were in such a demand that we couldn’t ignore our fans."

The Beta release for Friday The 13th: The Game continues to be on schedule for later this year but the launch will now take place in early 2017, with a 'full launch' later in the summer as they include a single-player campaign which includes missions "ripped straight from the films." The multiplayer side of things has been held up but at least arrives first for backers of the Kickstarter project.

Friday The 13th: The Game releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation in early 2017.
