Amazon's UK PlayStation VR Pre-Orders Could Take Up To Mid-December To Fulfill

Retailer Amazon has some bad news for anyone looking forward to Sony's PlayStation VR headgear as their pre-orders might take until December to meet demand.

This is crushing to UK fans who have been chomping at the bit to get themselves into the more affordable end of virtual reality gaming. It's also especially compounding when the PlayStation VR's official launch is next month in October.

Pre-orders are a first-come-first-served basis so anyone who got in early are in luck, but those at the back of the queue might want to consider dropping their pre-order and shop around as the wait could be until mid-December.

"Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. You will be notified via email of the expected delivery date closer to the time. We will be fulfilling customer orders in the order in which they were placed and expect to fulfil all customer pre-orders by December 12th, 2016."

Amazon also issued a warning to reminder customers the problems of importing PlayStation VR units due to what electrical sockets they support. The PlayStation VR is priced at £349.99 in the UK and requires a PlayStation 4 console to operate.

Amazon US has already ceased taking pre-orders as they "sold through our allocation of the PlayStation VR." Only email notifications are now available to customers.

UK retailer GAME is for now guaranteeing their pre-orders will be met on launch day. They, much like Amazon, limit pre-orders of one per customer due to demand.

PlayStation VR releases worldwide October 13th, 2016.
