This is the second official trailer for the December-bound Assassin's Creed feature film starring Michael Fassbender.

This new peek into the cinematic take on Assassin's Creed doesn't appear to have the trademark flag and feather hunting collectable OCD. Much disappoint. What it does have are Templars and Assassins brawling through the ages and quite a different interpretation of the ancestral-memory-accessing Animus device.

"Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day."

The film stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, Michael Kenneth Williams, Brendan Gleeson, Octavia Selena Alexandru, Callum Turner and many others. Its trip into the past is set during the Spanish Inquisition but that only covers a portion of the film, which is mostly set present day.

Assassin's Creed will be cinemas December 21st in the US, and January 1st, 2017 in the UK.
