New Halloween Sequel To Film This Summer
You can’t keep a good psycho down…While we knew that writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Saw IV-VIII) were taking a stab at a Halloween sequel, we now know that Dunstan will be stepping behind the camera and the title, which is *drum roll…
Okay, so the title doesn’t make sense but there is intent behind those words – the film aims to take the franchise back to its roots – ignoring the two Rob Zombie movies and continuing with the continuity of the first few movies.
While there’s nothing official in regards to plot, Bloody Disgusting has a brief, synopsis of unclear origin that involves two now grown-up children of Michael Myers' victims sneaking into death row to watch the slasher's execution, but finding themselves in hot water when everything goes awry and Myers, of course, escapes.
Which isn’t the most original of pitches (it's basically Shocker) but, if done with the same verve the pair brought to Piranha 3DD, it might be stupid gory entertainment.
Will starting again, er, again reinvigorate the franchise? If the title is any indication, expect to see Halloween Returns on October 31st
