It's official as news breaks that Ready Player One won't be taking on the goliath of Star Wars' next major episode from Disney. Steven Spielberg's video game flick will instead retreat into March 2018 to avoid the clutches of the New Order.

The movie is an adaptation of the Ernest Cline novel of the same name where a teenage boy named Wade Watts enters into a fictitious MMO, or just maybe World of Warcraft if that's sticking kicking, and attempts to find a treasure that will reward him with a billionaire's actual fortune in the real world. Many are on the hunt and willing to kill for it.

Ready Player One will be in US cinema March 30th, 2018 having been previously scheduled December 17th, 2017 which meant just two days after Star Wars Episode VIII sucks up all the box office enthusiasm. Star Wars itself was delayed to December from summer 2017.
