New Star Trek Trailer Teases New Rihanna Song
It looks like big trouble in outer space as the Captain Kirk gives his final log as the captain of the USS Enterprise in the brand new trailer for Star Trek Beyond.
Not much is known about the plot but we can expect danger as Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), McCoy (Karl Urban), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Scotty (Simon Pegg) and the gang are once more confronted with the perils of heading out into the final frontier.
As big blue baddie Krull (Idris Elba), with some help from Jaylah (Sofia Boutella), says, they’ve been pushing the frontier but now it’s time for the frontier to push back.
For anyone hoping a nuance approach to interstellar democracy well the film answers those concerns with bangy bang bang explosions and fights aplenty in this action-orientated trailer.
This certainly isn’t your fathers Star Trek…unless Gene Roddenberry had once foreseen the coming of Rhianna’s new Star Trek tie-in single Sledgehammer (no, not the Peter Gabriel one).
Star Trek Beyond reaches UK and US cinemas on July 22 and is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious).
