Transformers: The Last Knight Villain Revealed

Transformers: The Last Knight has been keeping its villain hidden in plain sight, a mystery wrapped in an enigma, leaving notable clues buried away in its marketing; its only now thanks to the ingenuity of a crack team of…oh forget it, it’s Megatron again.

Yeah, no real mystery here just the return of the original big bad who’s going to be facing down the knights who like scrappin’ despite the fact he transformed into Galvatron in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Although he’s not mention by name in the latest teaser to appear on both Twitter and Michael Bay’s Instagram page – Bay himself added ‘Megatron is back’ to his post – it does appear as though the big bad bot is back and is sporting a pair of tusks.

While it might be disappointing to have a familiar villain back in the fold, Megatron certainly won’t be the only threat – it would seem strange to release the news so early into production, and, with a writers’ room of talent headed up by A Beautiful Mind scribe Akiva Goldsman, the prevailing mood is definitely fixated on creating a new franchise from old parts. The Transformers movie mythology include "The Knights of Cybertron," a group tasked with defending the all-powerful All Spark from winding up in the wrong hands, and recently revealed plans to build a cross-franchise Hasbro movie universe mean that ROM — whose subtitle is "The Space Knight" — might be introduced into proceedings earlier than expected.

With shooting wrapped in Cuba, the bulk of the film is now kicking off in Detroit, with cameras set to roll later this week.

The plot remains largely under wraps, but the film (Which has Bay will said will be his last before he steps back to just produce the movies), sees Mark Wahlberg back as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel returning to the franchise as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox plus Isabela Moner and comedian/actor Jerrod Carmichael.
