Sony's Jumanji Remake Could Trap Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart, Talks In Progress
The cinematic blasphemy that is Sony Pictures' remake of the 1995 original Jumanji, which starred the late Robin Williams, may feature Dwayne Johnson and comedian Kevin Hart.
Until now not much has been said about the casting for the new take on the jungle-themed board game that's fun for the whole family. The film isn't scheduled to debut until July 2017 and so they better get a move on if they want to make that window.
Dwayne has been busy shooting Baywatch but that's now wrapped and another project of his - Rampage - has been delayed in shooting so The Rock turned movie star is free to play a psychotic game of Jumanji. Let's hope he or his fellow victims are good at rolling a 5 or 8. Fans of the original will remember poor Robin Williams got stuck in a jungle for 26 years.
Kevin Hart is also in talks for a possible part in Jumanji but his chances are dicier (see what I did there?), as Hart's schedule already has a remake of The Untouchables this summer alongside Bryan Cranston.
The Rock and Hart (The Pebble?) are already cast together for comedy Central Intelligence this summer. The Jumanji remake is being directing by Jake Kasdan (1998's Zero Effect) and has been drafted most recently by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
The cinema masses will get to hold our own audition for Jumanji this June 17th when Central Intelligence, which also stars Aaron Paul, hits theatres in the US. Let's see how Dwayne and Kevin handle the CIA before we let them play with Jumanji.
