Starbound Launches Today 10am PST / 6pm GMT, Includes Steam Workshop
Chucklefish are finally launching their galactic-sized sandbox adventure Starbound today as it exits Early Access and achieves 1.0 with tons of new content and features.
Unless you've been following the game's development closely by grabbing every single new update through Early Access then you might be in for a surprise when Starbound fully releases. There have been major overhauls to the game, from the small to the huge.
One of the very large changes coming is Steam Workshop support so creators can share their mods with ease. Given that games like Starbound and Terraria thrive on community creativity this is a big deal. Starbound has also been integrated better with Steam to launch multiplayer sessions quicker with much less hassle.
"While our mod repository on the forums has done the job of providing a place for Starbound mods, it’s not super efficient or user-friendly if you’re not already familiar with mod installation, and also requires a forum account," blogged Chucklefish.
Starbound releases today - July 22nd - for PC, Mac and Linux @ 10am PST / 6pm GMT.
