Sony teamed with Plantronics to develop an 'official' third-party headset for the PlayStation VR. Announced today, the Plantronics RIG 4VR will be out October 13th.

It's a full headset designed for PlayStation 4 gamers and takes the new PlayStation VR into consideration when it comes to sitting on your head. It comes with "interchangeable cables" for use with the PlayStation VR and the wireless PlayStation 4 controllers.

"Sound is an integral part of any truly immersive experience, and with this in mind we set out to design an audio headset which would complement the incredible 3D audio capabilities of PlayStation VR”, " said Plantronics' Gregory Morquin.

It comes with a noise-cancelling microphone that can also be removed. "A removable boom mic and cables that are wired out the back of the headset enable the RIG 4VR to connect seamlessly to the PlayStation VR." The Plantronics RIG 4VR will also work with other console controllers, and of course in a PC/Mac setup.

Visit the official website to learn more about the Plantronics RIG 4VR, due this week, October 13th - priced at €69.99 / £59.99.
