The beginning of December will cause another big shake-up for grand strategy Europa Universalis IV as The Cossacks will be released, adding a number of new features both paid-for and given freely in a patch.

One of the major changes is the addition of Estates which add powerful clergy, noble and merchant factions to be juggled domestically as we try to strike a balance between them to reap the benefits. Paradox Development Studio are also expanding how we 'express our intentions' to allies and foes by giving us the option to designate provinces of interest.

Cultural changes throughout the world have also been tweaked as we can now help a province switch back to its original mother tongue and practices if we so desire. Native Policies also let us decide how our colonial empire deals with native populations: aggressively, economically or peacefully. Espionage is also improved with new tricks up our ruler's sleeve.

"On December 1, 2015, you will be able to play The Cossacks, the next expansion for Europa Universalis IV, the best-selling historical grand-strategy game from Paradox Development Studio. With a host of new features and upgrades as impressive as the legendary steppe warriors themselves, The Cossacks brings even more depth and detail to Paradox’s flagship series."

Europa Universalis IV: The Cossacks releases on PC December 1st.
