Xenoblade Chronicles X is Nintendo's latest exclusive JRPG for the Wii U. The game will have players fighting for survival on an unknown planet, as they learn to use their skill sets and combat strengths to the best of their abilities. Monolith Soft (Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Xenoblade Chronicles, Disaster: Day of Crisis) is the game's developer.

Here's what critics are saying about the title:

COGconnected - 96 out of 100
"Despite some minor flaws, Xenoblades Chronicles X is a JRPG fan’s dream come true."

Nintendo Enthusiast - 95 out of 100
"Creates an incredible, breathtaking, awe-inspiring world that is an absolute joy to run around in, to fight in, to collect in, to look around in, to be in."

XGN - 85 out of 100
"Xenoblade Chronicles X is a worthy opponent for The Witcher 3, when it comes to the title of RPG of the year."

Metro GameCentral - 80 out of 100
"The best Japanese role-player of the generation and arguably the best open world environment of the year, despite a disappointing story and some arcane systems."

Hardcore Gamer - 80 out of 100
"Its unflinching tendency to do things that were not part of its predecessor’s legacy will solidify it as not only its own game, but the best role-playing experience on Wii U."

GameSpot - 80 out of 100
"A grand adventure that satiates your appetite for exploration and combat in ways that few games ever do, but because getting started is half the battle, it’s an experience reserved for dedicated players who have the patience and energy to unearth its greatest treasures."

Game Informer - 73 out of 100
"I began Xenoblade Chronicles X filled with enthusiasm for its intriguing world and gorgeous visuals. But like the hackneyed songs that play ad nauseum throughout, the gameplay doesn’t have enough depth or entertainment to sustain such a prolonged experience."

GamesRadar+ - 70 out of 100
"Xenoblade Chronicles X offers a resplendent world, fantastic combat, and transforming mechs, but figuring out how everything fits together isn't always easy."

Xenoblade Chronicles X releases Friday, December 4th.
